Save lives through prevention by providing high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine services

Mission:

Vision:

A community where every pet has access to affordable spay/neuter and vaccine services, leading to healthier and happier lives for both animals and their human companions.

Why us over private practice?

Most spay-neuter clinics set a high-volume goal to fulfill their mission. A typical HQHVSN (high-quality, high-volume, spay/neuter) veterinarian performs 30 or more surgeries daily. Note that the Q always comes before the V, but they are not mutually exclusive. At first it might seem that achieving high surgical numbers might come at a cost of patient safety, but a recent report found the opposite to be true. Peri-operative mortality in a HQHVSN clinic was approximately one-tenth the mortality rate reported for private practices that perform a broader scope of services. This likely is due to the continuous refinement of techniques and protocols based on a high level of narrowly focused experience. In addition, teams that specialize in a limited spectrum of procedures develop higher proficiency levels in those tasks. HQHVSN is the way to go!

 Before Surgery

Bloodwork is highly recommended for all pets but only required for seniors (age 7+). This must be scheduled, not offered the day of. A conversation will be had if you have a breed that will requires special anesthesia, it is not a one size fits all here! We are HQHVSN but again, quality first! Brachycephalic, seniors, breed specific and anxious dogs get a special protocol for safety and ease on them and you! These protocols are always up to doctor discretion. We will ask that you withhold food after midnight and drop off early morning.

Rest easy, we have done over 112,000 sterilizations, keep up on continued education, have special training by the ASPCA, are a certified fear free clinic and believe that cost should not be a barrier to high-quality veterinary care! We are low cost because of amazing supporters and donors like yourself who help us subsidize the ever rising costs with your donations and fundraising assistance. Prices should not be so high that you cannot afford critical core care such as spay/neuter and vaccinations! We are here for YOU!

During Surgery

EVERY pet goes under general anesthesia. Pain control is for every pet no matter what! They feel pain like we do and comfort is important! Dogs will go home with additional pain meds, cats receive an injection so you don't have to worry about giving a cat meds! We also monitor your pet’s SPO2 Oxygen concentration, heart rate, respiratory rate, EKG waves, blood pressure, color of mucous membrane, capillary refill time, and other values continuously throughout the procedure. IV fluids are administered quite often. This helps to flush the anesthetic from the liver and kidneys and assist in a smoother and more rapid recovery, maintaining vitals and keeping the animal hydrated. Your pet is not alone during the day, our staff is constantly with them and checking in. Remember what the Q stands for in HQHVSN!!

The surgery suite is cleaned and sanitized, each pet gets their own sterile instrument pack, proper surgical gear is worn and staff disinfects every space top to bottom with RESCUE cleaner. Fast, effective, and safe cleaning solution for keeping your animals healthy and environments clean.

Post Surgery

Eyes on the pets! We are constantly monitoring and watching each pet post surgery. Nobody leaves our facility unless they are alert, able to walk and do not show signs of distress. Pain medication will go home with every dog, cats get an injection at the clinic.

You have access to a post surgery dedicated cell phone number that you can text with concerns or questions. Again, remember what the Q stands for!!

Free rechecks are offered for up to 2 weeks post surgery. There may be minimal cost to you if additional meds or a cone is needed but $0 for the exam.

We care about the process from scheduling to fully healed! We are a dedicated team of professionals who are driven by a mission and vision to help ALL pet owners obtain affordable care for spay/neuter and vaccine services.
